Question:
I'm looking for a mail solution with 2 full zimbra accounts and 3 mail forwarders (or pop/ imap boxes - whichever is cheaper). I can order the 2 zimbra accounts without a problem, but do not really wish to pay for the full zimbra capability for the other 3 boxes and also can't see an option to just pay for imap/pop/forwarding. Compared to sherweb (hosted exchange) i can order 2 full clients and 3 pop accounts (for $1 each). Do you have something similar ? Answer:
Yes, you may use Distribution Lists to fulfill your need for forwarders. Distribution lists are free and unlimited, and can be one-to-one mappings of internal addresses to external addresses, such as sales@yourdomain.com forwarding to mysalesperson@yahoo.com. Of course, you may also add additional addresses to Distribution lists. Distribution lists are added, deleted and maintained in the secure zimbra admin control panel for 01.com Zimbra Business Hosting accounts. Two differences between distribution lists and mailbox aliases are: - Mailbox aliases are only for internal email addresses, within your own internet domain, whereas distribution lists may forward mail to external email addresses, too
- Mailbox aliases are only one-to-one, whereas distribution lists may be one-to-one or one-to-many
