- Expertise: none required. We can provide end-to-end assistance, from presales to migration, through maintenance, and even including 24x7 help desk support for end-users, or tier 2 help desk support for your help desk. You choose just what you need.
- Licensing: We will license your organization Zimbra's top-of-the-line Network Professional Edition, Standard Edition, or Consumer Edition, based on your needs. (Compare editions)
- To get started: use our Enterprise contact form to engage a 01.com Sales Engineer.
- Domain name: you must have at least 1 internet domain. You may have an unlimited number of additional domain names on your server(s).
- Server(s): We recommend Red Hat 5 server, or OS X server (version 10.4, version 10.5 is in beta). We support CentOS and others, too. We have standardized on HP Blades in 7000-series chassis in our data centers, and we commonly work with Dell, Apple Xserves and IBM hardware, too. And if you have a SAN available, that's typically optimal. We will help you specifiy the solution best for you based on understanding your current and projected usage patterns, operational needs and budget.
- Hosting: host at your office(s), your own data centers, or use ours.
- Migration: We have automated tools to migrate from popular systems such as Exchange, Notes and Groupwise. Cyrus/Postfix/Sendmail/Apple are all straight-forward operations. We have developed a flexible, custom, multi-threaded IMAPsync (imap sync) framework for any imap-compliant mail server, and also custom migration tools for other mail servers such as Ipswitch iMail.
- Mailbox administration: use the secure Zimbra admin to add/delete mailboxes and perform basic tasks yourself. You can decide to have and use full access to the server, or use 01.com to perform more complex tasks and systems administration.
- Security: We recommend and typically install 256-bit SSL encryption for IMAP, POP, SMTP, HTTP & LDAP, using public SSL certificate(s). With some system hardending, your Zimbra server(s) can be placed public facing, and we can place them in a DMZ, or behind a firewall using split DNS. We have secure methods for remote administration that meet stringent security protocols.
- Organizational size: Typically 250 team members or larger. We do assist many smaller organizations, especially in the financial services industry, with their own systems that have compliance/control requirements, or custom integration needs, that preclude considering a cloud hosting environment.
- Authentication: use Zimbra's built-in OpenLDAP, or we can authenticate versus other LDAP varients, such as Active Directory and Open Directory. We can also use secure preauth for single-sign on to other systems, such as CAS.
- Integration: If you choose to use an external system for authentication, we have material experience designing automated provisioning and de-provionsing (pruning) scripts and services to synchronize various directory systems with Zimbra's OpenLDAP. Other common integration requests are with various third party solutions for anti-spam and virus, most of which are straight-forward.
- Location: Your team can be together or dispersed. U.S. and international.
- Support: 01.com delivers any of the following: sales engineering support, systems administration for planning, migration, integration, programming and ongoing maintenance, 24x7 tier 3 engineering response, and a 24x7 help desk for your help desk, and even for your end-users.
