Server-to-server migration
Please note that server-to-server migrations take time to plan and implement, and we have extensive further information available to you after sign-up in our private knowledge base, located within the 01.com online help desk to assist you in planning and coordinating between our respective teams. We recommend you sign up at least 10 days in advance of any planned server-to-server migrations, review our knowledge base articles and submit a request for a specific date at your earliest practical convenience.
- IMAP sync: this moves mail from server to server, retaining its date and attachments.
- Exchange migration: this moves mail, calendars, contacts and tasks, retaining dates and attachments. It requires that you own the server and have root/sys admin privileges on it (ie: we cannot use this method to migrate you from hosted exchange providers).
Client-to-server migration
Upon sign-up, we provide access to our tools, advice and instructions on how to migrate data into Zimbra. Some examples include:
- Outlook .PST import tool: this moves data automatically from Outlook and Exchange into a Zimbra mailbox.
- Mac sync connector: once your calendars, contacts and mail are in Apple's native applications (Mail, iCal, AddressBook), this tool's purpose is to sync your data to your Zimbra account.
- .CSV upload: for contacts you may want to upload to a Zimbra account
- .ICS upload: for calendars you may want to upload to your Zimbra account
Please note that for an additional charge we sometimes have other methods and tools available to assist with migrations. Please contact our sales team if you're looking for alternatives not covered under the scope of free migration assistance.
