Description |
| 1GB |
One gigabyte, also known as 1000 megabytes (MB). A measure of storage space for electronic data.
In the 01.com shared Zimbra hosting environment, Business Hosting mailboxes start with 2 GB for annual terms, and 1 GB for monthly terms, and may be increased as needed by clients directly through the secure Domain Admin control panel. Personal Hosting mailboxes start with 2GB, and may request upgrades from the online help desk. On average, clients in 01.com's Zimbra shared hosting environment use about 1 GB each, although some customers have more than 20 GB or more of storage.
01.com charges $1/month and $12/year per GB for storage for Personal hosting and Business Hosting prepaid annually, respectively, and between $1 and $2 per GB for storage for Business Hosting with month-to-month terms and for dedicated hosting that uses the 01.com fibre-attached SAN (storage area network) for primary data, and data backup. |

Asynchronous JavaScript and XML. A programming language for interactive web pages.
"A primary characteristic is the increased responsiveness and interactivity of web pages achieved by exchanging small amounts of data with the server "behind the scenes" so that entire web pages do not have to be reloaded each time there is a need to fetch data from the server. This is intended to increase the web page's interactivity, speed, functionality, and usability." - Wikipedia.

| alias |
Commonly refers to a "mailbox alias" or to a "domain alias."
Mailbox aliases, also known as "also known as” email addresses, are routed to a user at a different email address. For example, "jerry@domain.com" may have an alias "gerry@domain.com" to catch email sent to a misspelling of his name. Or "info@domain.com" might go to "jerry@domain.com." Mailbox aliases are free and unlimited in both the licensed version of Zimbra purchased by enterprises for their own use, and in the 01.com shared Zimbra hosting environment.
Domain aliases are domain names that point to other domain names on the Zimbra server. For example, you may own both domain.com, and domain.net. You'd like domain.net to be a (domain) alias of domain.com, so that all mailboxes at domain.com will also receive mail for domain.net. For example, jerry@domain.com will also receive mail into his mailbox destined for jerry@domain.net. |
| asav |

Anti-spam term, indicates a known "bad" IP address (internet protocol address). This could be an address that has been hijacked by spammers, or one from a poorly maintained and legitimate site that allows mail relaying from unauthorized parties, including spammers.
In the 01.com shared hosting environment, each individual user has his/her own Blacklist, a list to which you may add email addresses, and even entire domains, from which you *never* want to receive email again.
The opposite of a Blacklist is a Whitelist. A form of Blacklisting is greylisting.

| distribution list |
A mailing list within Zimbra. Mailing lists are single email addresses that distribute in-bound mail to multiple other email addresses both local to the server (within the same domain), and externally (to outside domains and systems). Mailing lists are free and unlimited within the 01.com shared Zimbra hosting environment, as well as within self-licensed copies of the Zimbra collaboration suite.
For example, you may have a distribution list called sales@yourdomain.com, to which you have associated various other email addresses. When email comes into this address, it is automatically directed to the associated email addresses, for example, charles.salesperson@yourdomain.com, linda@yourdomain.com, and linda.salesperson@comcast.com (Linda's home email address).
You may use one-to-one distribution lists to map internal addresses to outside email addresses, particularly useful to avoid licensing and hosting fees for people that need to receive email at your domain, and don't need the Zimbra feature set. |

If such people use SPF to specify their legitimate sending IPs with a FAIL result for all other IPs, then receivers checking SPF can reject forgeries, reducing the amount of back-scatter."
